What's Oventa?

Oventa is a hosting platform for football betting communities. We provide all services for community administration, getting down your bets and we deliver all results in time :o). Your community is independent of any other Oventa community. Oventa computes quotes especially for your community. You can bet on match results and championship winners but our technology enables sports betting onto other events as well. Suggestions on what that might be are welcome at our forum.

Oventa is no betting agency or office. Numbers and quotes at Oventa stand for a virtual currency (Oventa Dollar) and, therefore, just provide a possibility to compare players.

What does Oventa cost?

Oventa services are basically for free, without obligation and fully functional for all hosted communities and members.

What are the betting conditions?

Conditions are easy and fair: You can get down your bet on championship winners until the first match starts, bets on match results are taken until a match starts. All wagers are returned to members of a community. Oventa does not take any fee.

Can I cancel a bet?

All bets can be canceled as long as a bet's deadline has not passed. Wagers are returned immediately to your personal virtual account.

Why do you play with Oventa Dollars instead of points like others do?

The special attraction at Oventa is to take a risk when getting down a bet - you can lose. If we would evaluate bets with points only, members would be measured about their football knowledge only. Number of points won would be equally defined and you can't lose it.

That's different if you take a risk to lose a Dollar by placing it as your wager. Clever betting enables members to prove their strategic intelligence beyond their football knowledge. That will be honored with Oventa Dollars - or punished when you fail.

Best player becomes that one who knows best how to convert his football knowledge into Oventa Dollars.

How do I get Oventa Dollars?

All payments on your personal virtual account are performed by your community administrator. He controls debits and credits of Oventa Dollars.

How do you compute quotes?

Before a match starts

A quote is the relation of "wagers on a specific result" against "all wagers on all possible result". We better explain by a simple example:

Four players bet on match GER - BRA (event)

	A bets 1 Oventa Dollar on Germany's victory
	B bets 1 Oventa Dollars on Germany's victory
	C bets 4 Oventa Dollars on draw game
	D bets 6 Oventa Dollars Brazil's victory

That will give us these quotes:

Quote for Germany's victory

All wagers: 1+1+4+6 = 12 Oventa Dollars

Wagers on Germany's victory: 1+1 = 2 Oventa Dollars

Quote: 2:12 or 1:6 for Germany's victory

Quote for draw game

All wagers: 1+1+4+6 = 12 Oventa Dollars

Wagers on draw game: 4 Oventa Dollars

Quote: 4:12 or 1:3 for draw game

Quote for Brazil's victory

All wagers: 1+1+4+6 = 12 Oventa Dollars

Wagers on Brazil's victory: 6 Oventa Dollars

Quote: 6:12 or 1:2 for Brazil's victory

Special Case

Members are also able to place bets on a specific match result, e.g. Germany wins at 4-3.

The winner now gets the doubled quote, but any other simple quote only. Due to the fact that total of wagers did not increase, winnings of other players decreases. Technically spoken: It is simulated that players with correct results placed doubled wagers.

I've got 1 Cent less than my players winning a bet.

Unfortunately, this can happen. The win quote is a rounded value. While computing all winnings (quote x wager), the total of all winnings can suddenly be higher than the total of all wagers. These are usually just one or two Cents.

Oventa then picks one of the winning players to "pay" for in favour of the balance of your community. He gets one or two Cents less than mathematics would rule. But you can relax. This is too less to really make the best player lose the game.

Is there only one community administrator?

A founder of a community automatically becomes administrator of it. However, he can authorize other community members to administrate.

I forgot my password. What shall I do?

You can request Oventa to send you your password again. Click on "Forgot password?" at our home page and follow instructions. You should be able to login again very soon.

I don't receive SMS from Oventa.

You must enable your cell phone to receive e-mails via special gateways. Details can be found here. You have to change your profile too to activate the service:

I don't receive any e-mail from Oventa!

It happens sometimes that automatic e-mails doesn't get to your inbox. Usually this is not caused by Oventa. Check these issues:

	Check the e-mail that you registered with Oventa. The system doesn't mercy any errors
	Check your spam folder and change your spam setting if Oventa mails are filtered by your system

We noticed that AOL sometimes defers delivery of mails. Please, be patient or use another e-mail provider (GMX, WEB, etc.)
